DWS is seeking an experienced Data Governance Specialist to join a major enterprise data migration project within a large-scale finance systems transformation.
You will play a critical role in establishing and embedding enterprise-wide data governance practices aligned to recognised frameworks such as DAMA -DMBOK. This role will suit someone who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about driving data as a strategic asset through strong governance, ownership, and quality practices.

Salary: up to $190K (inc super) depending on experience

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Deep experience establishing and maturing enterprise data governance practices in complex environments
• Strong knowledge of frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, NIST, and modern data management practices
• Experience working with Microsoft Fabric and Purview as governance enablers
• Strong understanding of enterprise data platforms, including Azure Data Lake and Azure SQL
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable governance policies
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across business, IT, and risk domains

What you'll be doing:

• Establish and embed enterprise data governance frameworks aligned to DAMA-DMBOK and industry best practices
• Define governance operating models, including domain ownership, stewardship, and accountability structures
• Translate regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements into practical data policies, standards, and controls
• Lead data quality management practices, including rule definition, monitoring, and continuous improvement
• Develop and enforce data lifecycle, retention, and archival strategies across structured and unstructured datasets
• Support the enablement of governance tooling, including Microsoft Purview, for cataloguing, lineage, and metadata management
