Job Purpose:

  • Group-wide global responsibility of managing the enterprise risk architecture
  • Actively participate and contribute in all enterprise wide implementation of strategic system implementations
  • Setup team up techno-functional staff having Business, Analytical and Technical skill sets
  • Undertake responsibilities of any new system as deemed appropriate by management

Principal Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables of Role:

  • Conceptualization of the Group’s enterprise risk architecture, spanning across subsidiaries/ units and the various silos of risk (Credit, Market, Operational and other risks)
  • Manage all systems deployed group-wide and under the ownership of Credit & Risk Group. These include systems for credit application processing, credit limit aggregation and monitoring and collateral management (ACAS, FREMAT/ CMS), credit rating solutions, market risk management/ VaR and Governance, Risk and Compliance solution. Operating ownership (maintenance) will be retained at individual level, however, overall management will reside with the Group Risk Systems team
  • Contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives (e.g. electronic data warehouse) and leverage them to meet risk management needs
  • To the extent feasible, bring systems operating in silos under a common platform and evaluate if they can be deployed for better utilization and common benefit across the group as part of best practices
  • Review requests for new risk management solutions/ modifications to existing systems. Based on discussion with stakeholders, formulate the most optimal and efficient approach to meeting these requirements and present them to Senior Management for approval.
  • Lead formulation of IT Capex and Opex budget for C&RG; taking into account requirements of the department while prioritizing based on budgetary and resource constraints
  • In coordination with Group IT, oversee strategic risk management projects (from a functional perspective) throughout its lifecycle beginning from conceptualization, RFQ/ RFP, requirement specification, design and implementation, followed by supporting the users and on-going maintenance of the system.
  • Ensure standardization and consistent implementation approach across the enterprise
  • Build competence center in HO and distribute knowledge to core team members across ABC units
  • Analyze existing systems and highlight areas of improvement
  • Enhance opportunities by identifying new software/services to be deployed.
  • Fulfill the role of a subject matter expert in requirement elicitation/ gathering. Interaction with stakeholders across the Group and resolution of challenges/ conflicts and streamline implementation.
  • Facilitate change and configuration management. Be part of change management process for systems under Risk Management
  • Act as a global point of contact for :
    • New requirements, upgrades
    • Customization, modifications to existing systems
    • Localization, integration
    • Credit risk reporting requirements
  • Sharing inputs from multiple business users and developing best practices throughout the organization
  • Ensure projects under development/ implementation are delivered to satisfaction and within agreed timeline and approved budget
  • Create collaborative environment between Group Risk Management System team, Technical team and Business Domain Experts  (Subject Matter Experts)

Job Requirements:


  • Techno-functional experts having understanding of wholesale business (commercial banking, capital & financial markets), their respective product classes, knowledge of credit risk, market risk calculation methodologies
  • Knowledge of business processes and underlying technology
  • Ability to convert business requirements into system design document
  • Capability of performing gap analysis in the existing system/s and recommend solutions

Education / Certifications

  • Degree in IT or Engineering, backed by MBA


  • Min. of 10-15 years’ experience in financial industry
  • Managing global risk management systems
