Position Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the Human Resources aspects of a strategic integration between two financial services organizations, both based in Cairo, Egypt.  Total headcount c1,500.

The role will be located at the parent organization’s Head Office in Bahrain, but travel to Egypt will be required.

The role holder will liaise closely with senior HR staff at Head Office, the main project team/business PMO, the external consulting team working on the project and local teams in Egypt, as required.

The position requires critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and strong change management and communication skills, as well as technical HR expertise.  Previous experience of successful delivery of the HR aspects of an integration is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive all HR initiatives under the project, which may be of varying complexity in nature.
  • Regularly communicate to management regarding the status of project deliverables.
  • Identify and monitor project risks, communicating roadblocks and issues to management.
  • Follow all appropriate risk management and project/program guidelines to mitigate the risk of project failure.
  • Create RFPs for HR related vendor evaluations (if required) and provide support in vendor evaluation for project implementation.
  • Assemble project plans, tracking key project milestones, and communicating status to stakeholders and management.
  • Maintain Project Dashboards and Analytics to assist in project prioritization.
  • Support Project Owners to ensure project delivery within scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Use strong understanding of business needs to effectively interface and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for project processes.
  • Ensure a culture of teamwork, partnership, and transparency by working closely with all stakeholders.
  • Act as a key contact for the HR PMO internationally, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and requirements to mitigate any risks.
  • Objectively analyze current practices within the different HR functions, identify improvement opportunities, build consensus, and drive implementation of the proposed approved changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree.  Master’s degree preferable.
  • A minimum of 10 years of HR generalist or specialist experience with in-depth knowledge of current HR practices & policies.
  • Expert knowledge of Project Management practices, principles, concepts, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Working understanding of the Financial Services Sector, banking products & services.
  • Knowledge of Egyptian HR practices and laws an advantage.

Note:

  • This role will report to the Group Head of HR Operations & Reward
  • This role is an individual contributor and will not have any direct reports
  • Travel will be required, at least once per month (covid restrictions permitting)
