Job Purpose

The Head of Infrastructure Data Center and Disaster Recovery role is to plan, organize, and manage staff and operations to ensure stable service delivery of the information technology infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing functional areas, particularly data communications, telecommunications, EMV Key management, Mainframe infrastructure and Disaster Recovery.

The main task is to manage the company’s non-finance application data and implement up-to-date solutions across the IT infrastructure. The Head of Infrastructure Data Center and Disaster Recovery oversees the IT technical staff and works closely with senior management to propose IT infrastructure improvements to the business and report progress on various projects and initiatives. Also, to lead Disaster Recovery implementation across the company’s onshore and offshore data centers.

The Head of Infrastructure Data Center and Disaster Recovery is responsible for making sure that the company’s infrastructure and associated systems run smoothly, perform within agreed targets, and provide a secure platform for the company’s business operations. They also act as IT specialists when the company’s needs to find solutions to complex technical issues.

Principal Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables of Role:

Maintain high availability and security of the company’s IT Data Center infrastructure through overall planning, coordination, maintenance, and continuous improvement to optimize resources and to deliver required services. The job holder is responsible for:

  • Planning, developing, optimizing, managing, and securing the IT Infrastructure services including the company’s:
    • Network Telecom environment including:
      • Global MPLS Private Network
      • Local Area Network
      • Wireless
      • Internet
      • Virtual Private Networks
      • Telecommunication services, including IP telephony
    • End Point Security Solution
    • Onshore and offshore datacenters.
    • Regional and oversees disaster recovery centers
  • Providing support and guidance to the head office and Representative Offices related to IT infrastructure
  • Conduct the company’s IT infrastructure and disaster recovery reviews to ensure compliance to the company’s policies, standards, guidelines, and best practices.

Job Context (circumstances & environment surrounding the job):

The Head of Infrastructure Data Center and Disaster Recovery is one of positions that report to the Chief Operating Officer. The role is responsible, across the company, for all services within Data Center infrastructure.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge

  • In Depth ITIL Knowledge
  • At least 5 years’ experience of managing a similarly sized team
  • Good understanding of servers, operating systems, networks, firewalls, telecoms, etc.
  • A probing and analytical approach with the ability to pre-empt potential problems and identify inefficiencies.
  • Ability to priorities and allocate resource/effort appropriately.
  • Extensive experience in Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery, IT Infrastructure (Data Center Management), Risk Management, IT Audit and/or IT Security Roles, preferably in the financial industry, supported by:
  • Broad knowledge of information security, business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Good understanding of the regulatory compliance environment of the countries where the company operates in
  • Relevant knowledge of industry process, control, and risk frameworks, e.g., ISO 22301, ISO 27000 series, COBIT. ITIL
  • Strong practical experience with tools and methodologies applied to business processes, business applications, technology infrastructure and third parties.

Education / Certifications

  • Master’s degree in IT or related discipline
  • Formal academic credentials or certifications related to BCM and/or DR (e.g., AMBCI or MBCI)

Experience

  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 5 years in IT Management, IT Risk Management, or IT Audit.
