The role holder will undertake complex, sensitive assignments requiring access to confidential business, financial and commercial information. The role encompasses the core pillars of strategy function (strategic review and analysis, strategic planning, strategic alignment, project implementation and change management) across all business lines of AFS.

Principal Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables of Role:

  • Helping the senior leaders develop strategic and business plan. Assisting with implementation where appropriate
  • Determining and clarifying strategic and operational issues via analyses and interviews
  • Identifying and structuring issues of problems at stake
  • Communicating complex ideas, anticipating potential objections and persuading others, often at senior levels, and other departments to adopt a different point of view
  • Undertaking market / sector / competitor research
  • Developing financial plans for business segments, countries, units, product lines
  • Structuring and conducting M&A analyses when opportunities arise
  • Helping Manage investor communications regarding the strategy

Job Requirements:

Knowledge

  • Very strong analytical skills (ability for dealing with ambiguities, excellent conceptual and structural thinking)
  • Very good communication and synthesis skills (both written and verbal – strong Powerpoint and presentation capability)
  • Ability to build a well-structured financial model
  • Good business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Native English speaker or very proficient – Arabic a plus
  • Ability to build dashboards and MIS

Education / Certifications

  • Master’s in finance or economics and/or MBA (or equivalent)

Experience

  • 5-10 years’ experience in a top tier consulting and/or business strategy function
  • Corporate finance experience
  • Fintech experience (as a consulting project or directly)
  • Payments processing and merchant acquiring is a plus
  • Change management experience
  • Some experience in the Middle East 
  • Market study analysis and scoping
  • Experience in project management principles and the best practices leading to deliverable products that include briefings and documents
