About our client Our client is a successful mid cap buyout fund focussing on investments into medium-sized companies in the DACH region. They are now looking to hire a Fund Controller to support their finance team. In this position, you will be responsible for all finance-related matters for one of the managed funds. The position is based in Munich, Germany.
What the job involves - Supervision of portfolio company acquisitions and exits, including calculation and implementation of "waterfalls", setting up and processing of corporate transaction structures, processing of purchase price payments and handling transaction documentation
- Coordination and supervision of quarterly investor reports, including capital accounts, capital calls and distribution as well as quarterly and annual financial statements (IFRS / KARBV)
- Quarterly valuation of portfolio companies for investor reporting and annual financial statements (IPEV / IFRS and possibly HFA 10)
- Responsible for CapTables, calculation of shareholder loans and distribution simulation (waterfall calculations) of portfolio companies
- Creation of ad hoc reports (e.g., performance overviews, benchmarking reports) for various stakeholders as well as answering investor requests
- Responsible for compliance with regulatory reporting requirements (i.e., BaFin, SEC, etc.)
- You will be the main point of contact for fund administrators, fund managers, tax advisors and auditors
- Continuous development and optimisation of processes and structures
- Support various projects, e.g., further digitalisation of fund processes, reporting tools, optimisation of CRM or support during the fundraising process
- You will be the point of contact for investors, service providers, investment professionals and the management team relating to all valuation-specific questions
Who we are looking for - University degree in Business Administration, Finance or related disciplines
- Initial professional work experience in fund controlling, investment controlling, valuation or deal/transaction advisory
- Knowledge in valuation is required
- Accounting skills according to HGB and IFRS are helpful
- Excellent MS Office skills, in particular, Excel
- Strong analytical skills, a high affinity for numbers
- You are a team player with a hands-on approach and an eye for detail
- Fluency in German and English is required
