We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as ASP Head of Wholesale Operations .

Principal responsibilities



The purpose of this Regional role is:

  • To proactively manage the ASP regional Wholesale (CMB and GBM) Line of Business (LoB) stakeholder relationships and act as the primary point of contact to LoB Stakeholders on behalf of all Global Operations Business Services providing services to Wholesale customers including; Credit Services, Wholesale Client & Account Servicing, Collateral Management, Trade Service, Payments and KYC.
  • To directly lead the Wholesale Operations teams onshore across the ASP region and deliver an agreed set of business objectives, enable business growth and manage the direct ASP Annual Operating Plan through the delivery of strategic initiatives and continues improvement aligned to the Operations Deliver 2020 Think 2030 programme.

The role will drive operational excellence across the ASP region to align Wholesale Operations to the strategy of CMB and GBM Global Lines of Businesses by;

  • Implement the Global Wholesale Operations operating model in the ASP region and ensure it is aligned to local business demand / requirements
  • Develop and drive ASP Regional relationship with CMB and GBM, ensuring the delivery of the transformational agenda for Operations 2018 - 2020 in line with the Global Business Service TP's
  • Wholesale Operations - Relationship manager for all ASP managed services that recharge costs to GBM and CMB (eg. Utilities such as Payments)
  • Driving the development of people strategies to support the Business demands and ensuring effective implementation in alignment with the Global Business Service Heads in WCAS, Credit, Collateral and Trade Services.

The role will consequently drive

  • Significant improvements in the overall experience delivered to the customers of Global Businesses
  • Delivery of service to agreed levels of performance
  • Deliver significant sustainable operational cost savings and improved operational efficiency
  • appropriate (risk: reward) improvements in managing operational risk
  • Making HSBCs Service Delivery capabilities professional and commercial
  • Functionally manage a team of circa 400 FTE split across 11 markets (Hong Kong and China onshore resources will remain aligned to each Global Business Service Head in Wholesale)


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Extensive Operations Management or related Business Management experience and a proven track record in delivery;
  • Recognized by the Global Businesses and in Global Operations as a Subject Matter Expert
  • Demonstrates clear evidence of the importance of managing risk and the competence to deliver it.
  • Strong relationship management and program / transformational change management skills
  • A resilient, self-starter capable of driving performance sometimes in ill-defined / new domains often on a virtual / remote basis
  • Able to define a strategic goal and define / deliver an approach to move tactically towards it;
  • Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills;
  • Excellent planning, organizing and commercial skills including strong financial management capability;
  • Highly effective in working with all levels of management and staff and in a matrix environment;
  • Operates well across cultures and in multi-cultural diverse work environments. Experience in at least 2 markets;
  • Ability to leverages resources outside of direct control to achieve goals
