Description

Job purpose:

The Citi Controller is responsible for the integrity and control of Citi's financial books and records as well as the process by which reports are generated. The Controller's group also focuses on strengthening the independent controls and the control environment throughout the company to support the businesses in their efforts to grow responsibly.

Key Responsibilities:

The person's primary responsibility is to support finance controllership function for Hong Kong legal entities. The role focuses on local regulatory reporting to Securities and Futures Commission "SFC" and Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd "HKEX". Other key stakeholders and partners include Finance & Risk Shared Services, Operations, Regional controllers, external and internal auditors
  • Review/preparation of SFC & HKEX reporting, statistics and surveys data and procedures to ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements
  • Delivery of legal entity financial results to the Governing Committee / Board
  • Review/preparation of annual statutory account and participate in audit process
  • Partnership with peers to deliver projects, system implementation, and improvement/automation initiatives
  • Continuously strengthening the control environment and identify area for improvements
  • Support ad hoc queries and projects


Qualifications

  • 4-7 years relevant experience in a bank or financial industry
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or equivalent, Qualified accountant and/or MBA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and SFC/HKEX regulatory reporting; broker-dealers experience preferred
  • Business / Industry knowledge / competencies 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access) applications      
  • A self-starter, independent and be able to thrive in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills with an eye for details
