Global Consultant Relations (GCR)

Within the Client Business group, we pride ourselves on creating, communicating, and delivering investment solutions for clients worldwide. To that end, we have teams of professionals with expertise in the many functions which, combined, make this effort successful and sustainable, including relationship management, marketing, sales, client service, and product development and management.

The Global Consultant Relations (GCR) teams sit within the broader Client Business group. GCR is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with global, regional, and local consultants across all asset classes. Professionals within the team work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services relevant to consultants and our mutual clients' investment needs. Unified under one global client platform, individual client businesses are accountable for client relationships and distribution of products and services and are supported by a centralized marketing function which ensures consistency globally.

The Role:

GCR is seeking an experienced professional to develop and manage relationships with investment consultants across North Asia (Off -shore China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea) . This includes the development and management of relationships with senior field consultants and manager researchers within each consulting firm. The role will encompass marketing the best of BlackRock's investment capabilities to manager researchers and field consultants, and working with client account managers to develop new business and service shared clients. The firm will support the successful candidate with training on product knowledge, relationship management skills, processes & systems, while the candidate will collaborate with BlackRock's investment business, client account teams, consultant support teams, and senior management to drive and protect business.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the management of senior consultant relationships across North Asia.

  • Develop a coverage strategy for the region and engage in senior level dialogue to position the BlackRock platform

  • Serve as a strategic partner and advisor to consultants and demonstrate deep subject matter expertise of BlackRock's investment capabilities, the market and the needs of our firms and mutual clients

  • Work with GCR globally as well as the broader Client Business leadership to drive new business and protect existing business

  • Partner with our investment teams to develop and lead product specific sales plans to consulting firms, including driving the due diligence process for Asia products with local researchers, and marketing Asia and global products in region to field consultants

  • Develop strong relationships with senior consultants, with the ability to represent the firm, coordinate internal resources, and provide valuable consultant, competitor, and market intelligence in support of sales opportunities


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10-15 years as an experienced Relationship Manager with prior experience servicing the consultant segment as well as institutional clients, and a strong understanding of the APAC investment marketplace

  • High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity & ethics

  • Strong overall sales acumen and analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Ambitious work ethic, professional disposition, detail-oriented, with a team-oriented approach

  • Ability to build influential relationships both internally and externally at all levels and functions; ability to resolve challenging situations

  • BA/BS degree in a related field, CFA preferred

  • Local securities license is required

Our hybrid work model
