Our client is a rapidly growing technology-driven organisation investing heavily in algorithmic innovation, data intelligence, and personalised user experiences as key business differentiators. As part of their continued expansion, they are seeking a Head of Algorithm & AI to establish and lead a high-performing team responsible for recommendation systems, intelligent decisioning, customer profiling, and advanced data-driven optimisation capabilities that support global business growth.

Your new role

• Define and execute the organisation's algorithm and data intelligence strategy, aligned with business objectives and customer engagement goals.
• Design and develop intelligent recommendation engines, customer profiling models, personalisation capabilities, and engagement optimisation frameworks.
• Lead the development of advanced algorithmic models supporting content distribution, offer allocation, customer lifecycle management, user retention, and conversion optimisation.
• Develop probability models and intelligent decisioning frameworks to optimise customer experiences and business outcomes.
• Drive behavioural analytics, customer segmentation, ranking engines, and recommendation strategies to improve engagement and retention.
• Partner closely with business and technology teams to translate business objectives into scalable algorithmic solutions.
• Evaluate emerging AI/GenAI, machine learning, and intelligent automation technologies, identifying opportunities to enhance existing products, recommendation capabilities, and customer experiences.
• Act as the technical and strategic leader for algorithm development while involving the organisation's longer-term AI and data roadmap.

What you'll need to succeed

• Master's Degree or above in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience combined, including but not limited to Algorithm Development, Gaming Systems/Application (e.g. with virtual rewards/probability engines), eCommerce (e.g. with recommendation systems / personalisation platforms), Data Science, or related disciplines.
• At least 3 years of experience leading technical teams and driving algorithm initiatives.
• Strong preference for candidates from E-commerce, Gaming, Marketplace, Consumer Internet, or other high-traffic digital platform environments where recommendation engines, personalisation, and customer engagement are key business drivers.
• Proven experience building recommendation engines, customer profiling solutions, ranking algorithms, traffic allocation engines, retention models, reward optimisation models, or behavioural analytics platforms.
• Strong expertise in predictive modelling, optimisation algorithms, statistical analysis, and experimentation methodologies etc..
• Proven track record of leveraging large-scale datasets and algorithmic models to improve customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and commercial performance.
• Exposure to AI, Generative AI, intelligent automation, or emerging technologies would be advantageous, with an interest in evaluating how these technologies can enhance existing products and customer experiences.
• Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin), with a valid Hong Kong work permit is a must.
