Client Accounting Manager

Job purpose

Responsible for coordinating and allocating work to a team of accountants (Job Bands 1-3). Review the information that is generated by their team before being sent to client/managers thus ensuring TMF's clients are provided with an efficient, professional and high quality service which meets all statutory obligations. Prepares added value reports and provides answers to the clients as the key day to day contact. Responsible for the processing of the more complex calculations and tasks.

Duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for the timely and correct handling of all matters for allocated client portfolio co-operating with others per the needs of the accounting department

• Responsible and accountable for ensuring that all reporting deadlines are met

• Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients and internal/external stakeholders. Follow 'Our Service Promise' delivery guidelines for relationship management

• Performs daily work with high complexity

• Oversees the audit process

• Allocate and coordinate the workload of juniors, assigning or re-assigning tasks to them and monitor day to day progress of delivery using available means to ensure work is delivered on time. Ensure the simplest tasks are appropriately allocated to the most junior team members

• Review the work of junior team members ensuring accuracy and providing timely feedback where needed (following a 4-eye principle).

• Provide guidance and support to junior team members (including on the job training) with complex work/calculations and acting as a point of escalation. Oversee their communication with third parties, stepping in as required

• Responsible for the accurate preparation of accounting statements and reports required by the client, specifically new client/entity financial statements (IFRS and Irish GAAP)

• Oversees month-end and year-end close activities, from balance sheet and cash account reconciliations to roll forward financial statement preparation - reviewing all reconciliations and ensuring they are followed-up on monthly

• Oversees VAT/CBI returns, withholding tax returns, corporate income tax returns and other filings

• Maintain a focus on continuous improvement in the team, challenging the status quo.

• Keeps up to date with changes in local accounting and tax legislation

• Review and provide first approval on bank payments.

• Ensure that all tax payments are recorded on the input file for internal finance to facilitate reconciliation of the tax account

Job specific requirements

• Qualified accountant

• Candidate with 1-3 years PQE is preferred

• Resourceful, independent and strong problem-solving abilities

• Excellent written and communication skills, with strong ability to plan ahead and organise themselves

• Analytical structured mind set with ability to follow and build upon existing processes and ensure data is maintained with accuracy and consistency

• Fluency in English is required

• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word is essential, along with experience of local accounting system

• Experience in an outsourcing firm with strong client servicing skills is preferred

• Enable smooth onboarding of new clients each month into the team (amount to be specified in annual objectives & regularly reviewed)

• Responsible for overseeing management of a specific number of entities and their related recurring annual and day to day tasks (amount to be specified in annual objectives & regularly reviewed)

• Deliver process enhancement and continuous process improvements, utilising systems as required

• Ensure the team's entities remain fully compliant with relevant local accounting and tax legislation

• Zero Customer escalations / complaints within your team's span of control

• Responsible for 99% of audits being filed prior to Annual Return Date (ARD)

• 100% timely and accurate time writing and productivity in line with personal target

• Contribute towards achieving Team's Annual Efficiency Target

• Responsible for 99% Data Entry completeness and accuracy into the local Accounting system

• Responsible for 100% Payments accuracy and timeliness

• Responsible for 99% Compliance to Tax Reporting Deadlines
