We have a permanent opportunity for a T ax Manager, based at our PIA office in Dublin. Prudential International Assurance plc. (PIA) is an Irish regulated life insurance company that offers 'offshore' investment, protection and savings products on a cross-border basis to UK residents, expatriates and high net worth international investors in selected markets in Europe and around the world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation/review of tax computations and liaison with external advisors (PWC) on all elements of Irish corporation taxation
  • Calculation and submission of UK Branch tax specific liabilities (incl deferred tax)
  • First point of call regarding VAT and transfer pricing issues incl. liaison with group contacts where necessary
  • Calculation, review and filing of reporting of policyholder tax withheld across various European jurisdictions (including working with outsourcer to resolve issues)
  • Review of client tax related literature to ensure in line with current legislation
  • Implementation (including working with outsourcer) of any changes required to policyholder tax in line with legislative/business requirements
  • Liaison with sales/customer service team to ensure sufficient data is collected to fulfil reporting requirement
  • Ensure filing of returns is compliant with current legislative requirements including working with outsourcers and external data providers (note the company has circa 30,000 reportable accounts for CRS)
  • The Company is in the process of a business transformation and as part of this will be launching new products on a fully updated IT suite. Act as first point of contact to the business to ensure that all tax requirements referred to above are met both legally and operationally
You will have:
  • Significant experience of communicating and presenting effectively at all levels both verbally and in writing, both with tax and non-tax teams.
  • Significant experience gained within Life Insurance
  • Experience of working within a regulated environment
  • Detailed knowledge of risk management principles and their impacts on tax work activity
  • Expert knowledge of industry best practice, good network/links with external bodies and individuals on the same field.
