Finance Business Partner
The finance business partner role is the primary finance support to the General Manager of a business unit and works hand-in-hand with them to achieve the BU goals. In addition to ensuring all key finance requirements (actual reporting, forecasting, budgeting etc) a performed at least to minimum standards, they will provide financial input and commercial feedback into decisions using their unique insight / perspective. Reporting directly into the Finance Director for South East Asia they will be supported by the regional hub for shared services, accounting / control and FP&A.

The core responsibilities of the position are to own and control end-to-end finance for their business unit, including:
  • Month end close (actuals) and managing working capital movements
  • Forecasting and monitoring of risks and opportunities
  • Annual budgeting and other planning exercises
  • Managing revenue recognition on complex projects
  • Liaising with the regional hub SSC to ensure correct invoicing, and accelerating cash collection
  • Providing commercial support to sales teams on pricing and sales margins
  • Feeding into sales compensation planning, target setting and launch of ad-hoc incentives
  • Sales performance tracking, including individual and team target attainment / commission
  • Providing guidance to finance shared service centre on other accounting related tasks
  • Identifying areas of potential improvement to finance processes, including simplification and offshoring of standardized processes.
  • Reporting back to business leaders on performance, resource utilization and revenue / cost drivers

In additional to core responsibilities the position may be required to do some or all of the following
  • Provide analysis for ad-hoc initiatives (e.g., cost reduction opportunities, vendor contracts)
  • Build financial projections for business cases, in partnership with the GM
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial support & partnering
  • Liaise with the wider APAC and Global Finance community

The desired competencies and characteristics of a candidate include:
  • An appropriate Finance qualification (CPA, ACA, CIMA) or equivalent
  • 5 -8 years of relevant experience
  • The ability to develop productive working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues with little experience and / or knowledge of finance
  • Pro-active attitude and willingness to take on new challenges
  • Goal oriented - ability to break down problems to create a plan to achieve goals without clear guidance on how to proceed
  • An appreciation of global financial concepts, including transfer pricing and taxation
  • Ability to develop, analyse and effectively interpret financial information, including the effects of business and technology initiatives and trends
  • Ability to understand and use financial tools and systems, including Oracle, Hyperion and Excel
  • Experience working in a global organization with stakeholders across multiple territories
