Head of Finance [Digital assets and Blockchain Technologies]

Our client is one of digital solutions and services covering capital markets solutions and financial technology and blockchain services, currently they are looking for financial controller to work closely with CFO in all aspects of the business.

You will be part of a small dynamic team to build the next generation enterprise grade blockchain applications for the financial industry by providing financial advice to senior management and the CFO to make informed business decisions. You will be a key point of contact for Finance for other departments and areas within the company, and with head office to resolve daily affairs related to Finance

Key Responsibilities:

Your main roles and responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:

• Assist in the preparation and validation of plans and budgets for the company for the short and long term
• Oversee from front to back, all day-to-day financial operations and vendor relationships
• Manage and control the full payments process and invoicing, with all areas of the company and approval process with head office
• Create and strengthen the internal control environment, and ensure compliance with developed controls, processes, policies and regulatory requirements
• Responsible for creating all reporting for the company, including performance reporting, cost reporting, financial resource reporting, regulatory reporting, tax reporting, and ad-hoc reporting on a timely and accurate basis
• Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modelling for company leadership
• Provide financial advice to senior management and the CFO to make informed business decisions
• Engage with external and internal auditors, regulators and investors to substantiate accounting treatment and provide any necessary reporting
• Support the CFO on the running of company-wide projects and tasks as and when required

Skills/ Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accountancy, or possess an accountancy professional qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other equivalent) with at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in accounting or financial analysis to create and improve financial operational processes
• Have a good understanding of Investment banking, Custody, Debt Capital Markets, and Flow/FX businesses and the processes around them
• Have an analytical mind and an eye for detail, with a desire to probe further into data, and synthesize it into actionable information with a clear content and messaging
• Have good communication skills – both written and verbal, with the ability to develop strong working relationships with senior business partners, resolving problems cross-functionally across departments and regions
• Solid knowledge of local accounting standards, regulatory MAS and tax reporting
• Excellent business and commercial judgement, analytical and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment
• Knowledge of financial reporting and data mining tools such as SQL, Access, Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be preferable
• Has experience working in an international cultural team with global / regional reporting lines and any experience working with companies based in Japan will be an advantage
