Java Software Engineer, E-Communications Surveillance

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Manage and support a portfolio of production applications which includes vendor, home-grown, on premise, and SaaS applications
  • Make sound architectural decisions around application components interfacing with a large number of other applications within and outside the firm
  • W ork to improve the stability of applications in the production environment
  • Provide Level 3 production support to applications in production
  • Identify opportunities to Automate L3 tasks (Application Build, Application Deployment etc.)
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
  • Knowledge of industry wide technology strategies and best practices
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages:
    • Strong SQL knowledge (Experience of working with Complex DB objects), Oracle or SQL Server is preferred
    • Spring framework
    • Cloud Architecture
    • Frontend development experience (e.g. Angular, JavaScript)
    • Source code build & control tools, preferably Maven and Git
    • Application security protocols and technologies (e.g. SFTP, SSL, OpenID Connect, Spring Security Architecture etc)
    • Micro-Service architecture, RESTful API based or message based service e.g. QPID, ActiveMQ.
    • Windows, Linux
    • AWS or equivalent technologies
  • Experience with batch, data-intensive processing and transfer including controls for ensuring the completeness of transferred data
  • Migrate applications to new infrastructure and a standard development environment including on-boarding the applications to the standard tools for change management, source control, access management, and application monitoring
  • Ensure changes to the applications follow a disciplined change management processes including all documentation, reviews, and approval steps
  • 8 years or more of development experience with a variety of tools and technologies with at least 5 years in a Development Lead or an Application Architect role
  • 5+ years of experience in tier 3 production and operational support
