We are currently looking for a Java Developer with good experience in a Trading IT environment, who has a basic understanding of financial products and has a holistic approach to software engineering (req engineering, testing, actively working on solutions, etc.). This is a contract assignment with our client in Zurich.

Tasks

• Build, test and deploy new tools, services and product features
• Improve and create new libraries and frameworks
• Communicate and liaise with key business and IT stakeholders
• Continuously drive and improve the system

Requirements

• Experience in test driven development, experience of JUnit and mocking libraries (e.g. Mockito) are a strong asset
• Understanding of principles of object oriented programming, interfaces, abstractions, dependencies etc.
• Good experience with Core Java & related utilities/libraries, particularly collections, multithreading, JSON, JDBC, Maven
• Good experience with Spring framework, JDBC templates and JPA, and messaging (JMS)
• Good code review skills, pride in code quality
• Experience in Hazelcast and Elasticsearch
• Previous ActiveMQ hands-on experience
• Good understanding of Unix operating systems, experience in bash scripting
• Experience in the Financial Services area
• Excellent English
