Job Description

You'll be joining us here in Group Tax as the NRFB Corporation Tax Senior Manager. You'll support the Non Ring-Fenced Bank business activities and will also lead related group projects. You'll work collaboratively with the Advisory, Compliance and Reporting teams within Group Tax on implementing tax coverage, managing relationships and communications with partners on significant tax compliance and risk implications.

What would you get involved with?

You'll work across Group Tax as well as the wider business and control functions to understand the applicability of tax policies and implementation of these. You'll have responsibility for ensuring alignment to and full compliance with a range of group policy requirements.

Communication and influencing skills are key as you'll be expected to present complex tax analysis in a user-friendly manner, tailoring the approach for a broad range of audiences.

You'll be an excellent relationship manager, with the ability to influence and work with diverse organisations of partners (including HMRC) through open communication, partnership and consistent delivery.

This role calls for you to work with process and a range of projects in the ever-changing tax world. This will include coverage of tax risk management within a SOX, and Senior Accounting Officer environment, to the backdrop of increased public scrutiny of tax affairs of large corporates and increasing openness. You'll focus on continuous improvement including process efficiencies, and simplification.

Tax legislation is constantly changing and evolving and therefore focus on tax matters requires the need to dedicatedly engage in self-development and professional training initiatives for you as well as other colleagues.

What skills and experience can you bring to the role?

Skills / Qualifications:
  • Professional Accountancy and/or Tax qualifications, (ACA, ACCA,CTA)
  • Good current knowledge and experience of tax legislation and accounting standards under IFRS
  • Good understanding of risk expectations for a tax function impacted by SOX, Senior Accounting Officer, and Public Tax Strategy regimes
  • Financial Services background

  • Ability to engage with senior management and other key partners and relevant regulatory bodies
  • Experience of working with peers to ensure efficient and effective delivery
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and interpretative skills
  • Strong IT / Excel skills

The pay range is £60,000 - £121,000.
