The Treasury Technology team works with end users in Corporate Treasury, Cash Management Operations, Liquidity Controllers and other groups on a daily basis to optimize our Liquidity Reserve and bring efficiency to their processing. As a Team Lead in Treasury Technology, the lead would build & lead a new global team of 8 developers (4, including this role in Glasgow, the rest in India), focusing on implementing new and updated Liquidity reporting relation applications to calculate the firm's liquidity reserve. The primary interface points will be Global Corporate Controllers also located in Glasgow. It will be expected that the team lead will spend significant amount of time in functional discussions with his/her counterpart in the controller organization in Glasgow.
Treasury Technology has a varied technical stack - core Java for the server-side, Angular for the web and DB2 SQL for the database and we expect the lead to have solid understanding of the same. We also use a range of messaging technologies- distributed caches (e.g. Hazelcast), and data processing technology (e.g. Spark, Kafka). Knowledge of these technologies is not necessary - but an enthusiasm and desire to learn new technology and deploy it to solve business problems is a must.
The Team Lead candidate should possess a successful track record of key skills including: leadership, business analysis, software engineering, and logical problem solving. These skills are crucial as the role entails liaising with business stakeholders to understand complex requirements, and to prioritize work under pressure with minimal supervision in a highly dynamic environment. The candidate should bring a positivity and enthusiasm in their engagements with colleagues to foster a positive working environment for all.

- Strong experience in a technical leadership role overseeing 3 or more developers
- Extensive experience in Core Java/Middleware application development
- A keen interest in learning the business and applying new and existing technologies to solve business challenges
- Strong development and design skills in Java server-side programming
- Experience with databases and data modelling - Sybase, DB2, SQL or Oracle
- Practical experience in Agile/Scrum based development
- BDD driven development using frameworks such as Cucumber, JBehave, Concordion
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with team members globally.
- Ability to communicate complex issues and influence senior stakeholders.
- Big data technical stack.
