Associate/Analyst - Strategic Market Infrastructure

J.P. Morgan is seeking a talented Analyst/Associate in our Corporate & Investment Banking Group - covering CIB Digital Strategy, Fintech and Infrastructure Strategy. This role will provide the opportunity to work on evaluation and development of external utilities and delivery of infrastructure& vendor strategy with business partners across the CIB. The position represents an excellent opportunity for candidates to:

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Engage with Executive Sponsors and Internal Stakeholders to agree market infrastructure strategy

  • Participating in and independently conducting internal and external interviews with stakeholders

  • Monitor industry trends and share insightful reports/ analyses/ news articles with broader team and with senior executives
  • Perform competitor/industry research leveraging both public and non-public sources

  • Structuring and building quantitative and qualitative/conceptual analyses and its implications

  • Develop concise presentations, creative analyses, insight and recommendations for senior management
  • Create and/or contribute to an environment of collaboration and mutual responsibility with team members across LOBs and staff areas

  • Partner with internal CIB teams to execute on Strategy

  • Build strong relationships with JPM Strategic Infrastructure Providers


Skills and Experience required

  • 2+ years of experience at a premier management consulting firm, at an internal consulting/corporate strategy team, research or in an investment banking division (M&A, Coverage, Capital Markets, Equity Research)
  • Excellent generalist problem solving skills and conduct market structure research and analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills - ability to interact with colleagues at all levels and achieve goals without direct control over resources
  • An outstanding ability to apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently, and work well in cross-functional teams
  • A track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership
  • Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback from peers and managers
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Financial Services, Financial Institutions Group (FIG), or FinTech experience preferred
