The Associate will support members within the Energy team at a leading bank in London. In this role you will be involved with a variety of projects to expose you to various aspects of loan underwriting, credit analysis and portfolio management. You will work with a number of senior people internally to support a wide range of clients in the Energy space. Specific duties include financial statement and data analysis, financial modeling, industry research, and assisting in the preparation of information memoranda and presentations to internal and external clients.

The role:

  • Responsible for conducting in deph client, industry and portfolio analysis
  • Assist senior members of the team in preparing detailed documents including business proposals, crredit and business approval requests
  • Interogate due dligience materials and review legal documentation as required
  • Assist with the preparation of client presentations
  • Build and maintain relationships with Capital Markets’ marketers/traders
  • Respond quickly with solutions to requests for credit facilities 
  • Client interface – attend meetings with senior bankers; preparing pitches, presentations, etc. as required.  
  • Prepare amendment and waiver requests
  • Review financial reports and business plans

Knowledge and skills required:

  • University Undegraduate degree essential
  • Able to interogate financial models
  • Credit analysis experience
  • Good knowledge of economics and finance
  • Experience working within Structured Finance/Corporate Banking
  • Knowledge of the Energy Sector (Oil & Gas, Mining, or Renewables is desired)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good team player
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong technical skills and computer literacy
