Great opportunity to join this global insurer. This is broad compliance role covering both regulator and financial crime compliance reporting into the Head of Compliance & MLRO. Prior experience working in a similar role is desirable.
Due to an internal promotion within the team, this global insurer are seeking an experience compliance professional to join their team.
As the key contact person for all PRA and FCA compliance matters in the UK Branch, you will providing advice and guidance as required and assist the Chief Compliance Officer with compliance related issues including monitoring of controls in 1LoD, and attending Group and industry committees, where needed.
Key responsibilities include -
- Day to day ownership of: compliance with SMCR including completing necessary notifications to the PRA and FCA, updating management responsibilities map and statements of responsibility.
- All aspects of compliance training including reviewing course content, allocating courses and monitoring completion rates.
- Resolving sanctions escalations and compliance with anti-financial crime obligations.
- Monitoring the compliance mailbox, responding to queries as required, ensuring all relevant PRA and FCA returns are submitted in a timely manner.
- Ensure all relevant deadlines are recorded in the compliance calendar so PRA and FCA returns as well as Group reporting
- Assist with the completion of PRA and FCA returns (e.g., complaints, fees etc.) as well as reporting to Head Office through the various Group compliance platforms.
- Resolve sanctions escalations from the business units and assist with monitoring changes in the
- applicable regimes.
- Assist with transposing Group policies, guidelines and technical measures into UK Branch 2LoD policies and procedures; provide guidance in relation to the same to 1LoD and assist with the monitoring of 1LoD controls
- Promote training and other compliance initiatives including reviewing course content, allocating courses and monitoring completion rates.
- To be aware of, assess impact and implement applicable policies and procedures in relation to new legal and regulatory requirements affecting the UK Branch.
Experience & knowledge required -
- Educated to degree level
- Compliance qualifications desirable and/or willingness to study for professional qualifications essential
- Minimum of 5 years compliance experience required, ideally in both general and life
