This is an exciting opportunity where you will support the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Senior Manager by providing input into initiatives to drive and   embed our Be Yourself (ED&I) strategy. This will involve engaging with stakeholders, particularly from across the People function, employee networks and the broader firm, to ensure the strategy’s key pillars underline all activities across the firm, supported by our core purpose, values and behaviours.  You will be a key point of contact for the leads of our active internal networks and work with them to channel efforts to support the Be Yourself Strategy.

 

This role will work in collaboration with the ED&I Senior Manager to support senior leadership, including the Unifying Culture Board, as well as the wider HR department to ensure we continue to attract, develop and value add for the 6,500+ people across the firm. One of the priority actions is to foster a culture of inclusion, where all of our people from different backgrounds can be themselves, feel included and feel they belong. In this role you’ll also:

• Keep up to date with external market trends, best practice, industry evolving trends, external networks, regulatory changes/reporting and provide suggestions to enhance and develop the "Be Yourself" experience 
• Be responsible for the responses to charters such as Race at Work charter, Women in Finance charter and other relevant industry submissions. In addition, keep up to date new industry charters and awards presenting them for consideration if appropriate
• Actively champion the approach for firm wide and local ED&I initiatives by acting as the point of liaison between the local groups and central ED&I strategy
• Through data analysis, collaboration with People function teams and HRMs, spot specific opportunities to drive change and address areas of concern
• Take full ownership for key strategic projects, agreed with the ED&I Senior Manager, and see them through from planning to delivery and embedding
• Support the ED&I Senior Manager in working closely with SBU and Stream leads to embed ED&I in business decision making at strategic levels
• Manage and develop relationships across the People Function and act as key point of contact for queries as to how to embed E,D&I across all teams
• Continually developing your knowledge of ED&I strategies and supporting accountability within the business
• Responsible for supporting the internal networks, the production of the quarterly networks newsletter and assisting in the creation of new networks as required

• A good understanding or passion for ED&I concepts and ideally demonstrable experience gained within a HR function, in a large, matrix organisation - professional services or finance preferred
• Well-organised, detail-oriented, goal-motivated and ability to prioritise multiple projects with a positive attitude, meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
• Able to interpret quantitative and qualitative data and communicate priorities in a clear and compelling way and measure progress
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, strong professional ethics and business acumen
• Be an advocate for BDO, role modelling the culture values and behaviours
