Job Description

You'll be joining the Commercial Finance Director team for General Insurance and Protection, reporting into the Protection Pricing Senior Manager. At Assistant Manager level, you'll be coming on board within the growing Protection business of Scottish Widows and Lloyds Banking Group.

What would you get involved with?

Your remit will involve close liaison with a wide range of business areas within Insurance, including the rest of the Commercial FD, and colleagues within Underwriting Strategy, SWP Proposition and Commercial, Client Services, IT, Customer Operations, Risk & Finance. You'll also liaise across the wider Group and externally, such as with reinsurers.

Your accountabilities will include:

•Performing Pricing of the Life and CI products for the Bancassurance channel

•Supporting broader pricing activity across the team including the pricing of Life and CI intermediary and Flex products

•Supporting product development and price optimisation work

•Producing pricing reports and financial analysis for senior management on price changes and pricing assumptions

•Performing premium reviews for reviewable products

•Development and maintenance of pricing calculators and tools

•Supporting resolution of pricing related queries

•Assuming responsibility for your deliverables within projects within the required time, cost and quality parameters

•Agreeing with customers and suppliers the deliverables to and from any production process, ensuring these meet both customer requirements and the needs of the function

•Escalating, managing and mitigate risks in a timely manner

•Pro-actively developing and maintaining working relationships to identify and satisfy mutual business requirements.

What skills and experience can you bring to the role?

We're looking for you to be a talented and commercially minded Pricing Actuary or part-qualified Actuary. You'll also have

•Well-developed technical ability in analysing problems, determining solutions and specifying calculations

•Protection product knowledge and experience is preferred but not essential

•Prophet knowledge is also preferred but not essential

•Effective written and verbal communication skills

•Effective influencing skills

•Excel skills
