The Role:

  • Help evolve the Derivatives and New Instruments team in Agile ways of working ensuring that the team is protected from external distractions, allowing them to focus on achieving their commitments and grow in confidence, knowledge and efficiency
  • Build strong working relationships with the Product Owners, ensure effective Agile ceremonies, identify and resolve impediments, protect and manage the team's sprint commitment
  • Provide full transparency on the team progress as part of a team delivering new instruments and markets, reviewing vendors, analysing current operating models and working across multiple departments to implement efficiencies and growth, whilst reducing risk
  • Identify and use demonstrations and metrics to transparently articulate delivery progress, risks, issues, team morale and key decisions
  • Instil core values to create teams that are Purposeful, Skilled and Trusted

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and work closely with the Product Owners to shape the book of work for delivery and ensure that the benefits and value of changes are understood and realised by the business and the Agile Team
  • Plan and forecast finances, and recognise the impact of delivering the new product or service on operating costs by tracking the backlog and the cost to deliver
  • Liaise with technical, operational and commercial teams relating to deliverables relating to derivatives and the launch of new instruments/markets
  • Build mutual respect with, and develop a highly-motivated, collaborative, client-focussed and high-performing delivery team
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement of the team and its individual members, and highlight where strengthening and change is required
  • Engage, interact, and coordinate with other workstreams within the Investment Change, Regulatory, and Product Portfolios
  • Create and maintain required project documentation and considered escalation of items in a timely manner to the Product Owner and stakeholders
  • Where required, ensure that key decisions are recorded where 'evidence' may be required (e.g. Key business decisions, minutes of client meetings, etc.)
  • Regularly review the team size and make-up and work with Chapter leads to recruit new members where appropriate
  • Ensure team is working to an agreed mission aligned to strategic business objectives

You will have:

Essential;
  • Experience of running OTC and ETD derivative related projects/scrums
  • Knowledge of trading venues, clearing, margin/collateral, and regulation, relating to derivatives
  • Experience in running a RFP
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in the Investment Management industry, and 5 in market related firm(s)

Desirable but not essential;
  • Demonstrate a background of working in Agile delivery teams with experience of different methodologies (Scrum, Kanban etc) and tooling (Jira, Confluence etc)
  • Experience of outsourced operational models
