We are hiring a Software Development Manager to help us deliver on the next generation Network Edge services to power Prime Video globally. You will lead the team which handles all requests from millions of Prime Video customers worldwide to Prime Video's services. This network border must be highly available, secure and low latency to meet the scale of the ever-growing Prime Video service.
We are responsible for DNS, network routing, authentication, security, and availability protections. We are leading innovations with Native AWS technologies that are breaking new ground for Prime Video and Amazon globally. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most highly scaled AWS services at Amazon.
Candidates will have an understanding of stable, scalable systems that have been successfully deployed in a business setting. You will be passionate about technology with a focus on the customer experience and great teamwork.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Relevant engineering experience
• Experience managing engineers
• Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
• Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
• A proven track record of software delivery through all phases of development and developing long-term development and business technology strategies
• Demonstrable knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
• A deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, and a track record of shipping software on time
• Experience with the SCRUM methodology for agile software development preferred
• Experience designing software architectures for scalability, reliability and performance
• Experience with CI/CD processes
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
