The Role

As a Workforce Change Manager at Hiscox, you will be a key contributor within the People function. This role is central to enabling Hiscox to deliver business-critical people change through structured transformation, robust workforce planning, and effective oversight. You will own and lead moderately complex people change initiatives, contributing specialist insight, challenging existing norms, and driving continuous improvement within your area of expertise. Operating with a high degree of day-to-day autonomy, you will be responsible for managing people change strategies, workforce plans, supporting comprehensive stakeholder engagement, ensuring smooth transitions, and ultimately delivering successful transformations that align with Hiscox's strategic goals. You will make tactical decisions and provide specialist recommendations, solving moderately complex problems, often in situations where clear precedents may not exist.

Role Focus & Decision Making

• Lead the design and execution of specific people change initiatives, leveraging project and programme management best practices to ensure successful delivery on time, within budget, and to agreed scope.
• Lead and delivery on people related change activities and workforce planning globally ensuring business strategy is translated into actionable change plans
• Make tactical decisions and provide expert recommendations on people change approaches, risk mitigation, and issue resolution for moderately complex problems, often in ambiguous situations.
• Drive continuous improvement within people change processes and methodologies, applying judgement and ownership consistent with Hiscox standards, policy, and governance.

Role Scope

• Lead and manage moderately complex people change workstreams or small projects independently, contributing specialist expertise and driving process ownership.
• Manage workforce planning globally including tracking and forecast workforce movement
• Host key design authority forums and ensure adherence to people organisational logic and standards
• Act as a key contributor within the People function, influencing outcomes and providing insight that enhances the effectiveness of people transformation initiatives.
• Contribute to the development and mentoring of less experienced colleagues, sharing specialist knowledge and best practices in workforce planning and people change management.
• Responsible for delivering high-quality outputs and managing project components with a high degree of day-to-day autonomy.
• Operate with an experienced specialist contribution, ensuring that people change initiatives are aligned with broader organisational objectives and deliver tangible value.

Reporting relationships / leadership

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders across various business units and at different levels, influencing decisions and fostering alignment on change objectives.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with HR Business partners and leadership to ensure global aligned people change strategy
• Provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues, acting as a subject matter expert and contributing to their professional development within people change and workforce planning.
• Represent the People function in relevant workstream or sub-function meetings, articulating people impacts and requirements.

Complexity & Problem Solving

• Address and resolve moderately complex problems within the people and workforce change specialty, often requiring innovative solutions where established precedents may not exist.
• Exercise a high degree of day-to-day autonomy in identifying, analysing, and resolving issues that arise during people change initiatives, balancing risk, quality, and pace.
• Apply deep specialist knowledge and strong problem-solving capabilities to navigate ambiguous situations and guide stakeholders through complex transitions.
• Proactively identify potential roadblocks and develop mitigation strategies, escalating critical issues to leadership with clear recommendations based on impact and governance.
• Utilise sound judgement to make informed decisions, ensuring that solutions are practical, sustainable, and aligned with Hiscox's strategic direction
