We are seeking a high potential Lending Transactor (LT) to help grow our Ultra High New Worth (UHNW) Lending team serving UHNW clients (generally clients with a minimum net worth of at least $50 million). The LT will be located in the Los Angeles area and will support and collaborate with the regional Senior Lending Transactor (SLT).
Position Goal is to support the regional SLT in delivering the UHNW, including Tailored Lending, product. The Position will be dealing with Bank Loan Products only.
Responsibilities will include assisting the regional SLT in the following :
o Pursuing UHNW Lending opportunities, which will include: i) evaluating the obligors; ii) valuation of the underlying collateral;
and iii) determining if the opportunity aligns with one of the approved UHNW Lending programs.
o Performing the appropriate level of due diligence, including evaluating appropriate financial and non-financial information to
perform opportunity assessment, as defined in (a) above.
o Identify key risk and mitigants related to an opportunity and propose potential structural enhancements and other terms and
conditions that may mitigate such risk.
o Draft and negotiate bank Letters of Intent (LOIs) under the guidance of the SLT.
o Prepare and/or assist the SLT with the preparation of credit memoranda clearly outlining each transactions, purpose,
strengths, risks and mitigants, financial/collateral analysis and other key terms and conditions required to support the SLTs
recommendation to move forward with the opportunity.
o Assist the SLT in efficiently managing the transaction cycle through final credit approval, documentation, closing and initial
funding of the transaction ensuring timely coordination with all parties involved including Credit Risk Team, FA, Private Banker,
Loan Operations, Compliance, Legal Counsel and any other party who is, or should be, involved in the specific transaction.
o Engage in on-going portfolio maintenance in coordination with other supporting groups.
o Meeting with existing and potential clients in coordination with regional SLT to develop/enhance client/prospect relationships
and identify potential product opportunities.
o In coordination with the SLT meet with branch and complex teams to heighten product awareness and train front-end sales on
identifying potential product opportunities.
Bachelors Degree required; Advanced degree preferred
Minimum 2-5 years experience in lending origination and credit analysis, Private Banking Lending experience is a plus
Formal credit training preferred
Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate your assessment in a clear and professional manner
Maintain poise and presence coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills to build relationships with sophisticated UNHW clients and their advisors
Demonstrate creativity and intelligent solutions in structuring sophisticated client transactions
Balance revenue expectations with risk requirements of firm to ensure client and firms interests are met
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
Detail orientation with exceptional analytical skills
Significant accounting and finance knowledge along with advanced Excel skills
Ability to meet deadlines and manage Financial Advisor and client expectations
Ability to multi-task
Good collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment
Travel is required
