As a Sr. Accountant of Financial Reporting you'll coordinate, prepare, and analyze financial statement support for SEC, CFTC, and other internal requirements. Manage the SEC and CFTC SharePoint sites, including all workflows, to ensure that all supporting documentation, workflows, and site controls are operating effectively to align to quarter-end objectives.
Principal Accountabilities: • Review and prepare financial statement, footnote and MD&A support for the quarterly SEC filings • Review and prepare financial statements for quarterly CFTC filings and other regulatory/internal requirements • Coordinate the CFTC regulatory financial resource report filing process, including review of forecasts provided • Oversee SharePoint sites for SEC and CFTC reporting and provide assistance for the Corporate Accounting SharePoint site • Manage the review of CME Inc. benefit plan audits and ensure auditor requests are prepared accurately and timely • Assist senior management in the monthly accounting close and financial statement trend review • Assist with research various accounting research topics and provide guidance to the accounting department (transaction-based issues, new guidance, etc.) • Ensure completion of special projects as they are assigned by Management. Projects may include leading the integration of acquired companies, both foreign and domestic, as applicable, process improvements, evaluation and/or assistance with the implementation of new software tools, or other ad hoc requests. • Participate and be actively engaged in quarterly MT certifications. Ensure that adequate preparation is done outside of critical time periods. Provide reporting package to meeting participants at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled meeting time.
Skills & Software Requirements: Microsoft Office required Webfilings, Sharepoint, Workday, and Essbase preferred CPA is a plus
Education: Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, similar field
