State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) is a global asset manager. The IT Business Management Office team, a group within the SSGA Information Technology department, executes tactical initiatives to simplify SSGAs technology landscape. We work collaboratively firm-wide to continually implement best practices. This allows us to successfully manage the universe of business applications and tools used to run our company.

The IT Business Management Office team is looking for a junior business analyst to join their team. This analyst would help our team strategize, create and support solutions that will help us achieve our goals for our business partners /our internal technology organization.

  • What you bring:

    • You will propel the requirements gathering process for our solutions by performing analysis, documenting observations, and brainstorming with business partners and across the technology team.
    • You will outline requirements within our team that will drive the demand queue of development teams on- and off shore as well as participate in testing and verification of requirements.
    • You will be a part of strategic planning meetings to prepare our teams engagement with subject matter experts and development teams to execute our projects to success with precision
    • You will be involved in projects from the discovery phase to UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to production state.
    • You will engage, foster, and form relationships with business contacts and across our team.
    • You will provide updates on project work to senior team members and business partners, as well as, provide meeting minutes and summaries of action items.
    • You will be encouraged to share recommendations and participate in discussions on process improvement and ways to evolve solutions and de-clutter the technology landscape.

    Qualifications:

    • You have a keen interest in the financial industry.
    • You possess the ability to critically think and translate requirements into actionable initiatives.
    • You bring enthusiasm by being a motivated self-starter with a can do attitude.
    • You are prepared to assist in project management initiatives, including testing and implementation, and demonstrate adaptability, the ability to prioritize, multitask and work in a dynamic environment.
    • You can demonstrate analytical and effective written/verbal communication skills.
    • Calmness and clarity of thought under pressure and ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Accepts responsibility and accountability, committed to producing your best work consistently
    • Able to work collaboratively, strong interpersonal skills; ability to effectively work with a broad variety of people, personalities, levels and roles.
    • Bachelors degree pursuant or equivalent.
    • Engaged in Finance, Economics, or other strategic/analytical coursework.
    • You are able to see trends, patterns, and piece together the bigger picture.
