Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Responsible for the analysis of fund asset and sales activity for the Investment Management Division business. Analysis consists of reviewing legal documents for new fund launches, understanding timing of closures and wind-downs, and review of various fund events such as distributions and side pockets. Validating information, confirming attributions for books and records processing, and preparing data files for system uploads for certain fund families. Liaising with various teams, such as Fund Accounting and Technology, to ensure technological developments associated with changes or upgrades to systematic flows are properly implemented and conform with asset reporting requirements. Once the reporting parameters have been finalized through communications, Excel spreadsheets and systems setup, validating projected results through exception report review, and mathematical variance analyses at various micro intersections and at the macro level. Liaising with subject matter experts during the validation phase to ensure yield adjustments are posted before the asset and sales dataset can be finalized and locked for reporting. Maintain controls throughout this process including implementing mathematical checks in work files and ensuring consistency of reported data to legal documents, and retain evidence to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley and audit requirements, such as audit trails to support manual adjustments, email correspondence with other teams, and print screens from systems. Once data have been deemed final, preparing the reports to satisfy Financial, Regulatory (SOX, SEC, FSA, etc.), Business (Quantitative Investment Strategies management reporting as well as portions of Fixed Income and Fundamental Equity) and IMD Controller requirements.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Employer will accept single degree or any combination of degrees, certificates and/or professional experience where determined to be equivalent to U.S. Bachelor's degree by a qualified credential evaluation service. Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related position. Prior experience must include two (2) years of experience with: working in either a public accounting or financial services role; applying US GAAP with regards to revenues, expenses, receivables, and accruals, in order to investigate fluctuations among reporting periods, including identifying underlying drivers during analytical review; applying internal controls and principles of Sarbanes-Oxley Act - Section 404 including experience with standing financial control infrastructure, performing control risk assessments and making control framework recommendations; working with auditors on internal and external financial audits including experience with audit trail, control documentation processes, and audit inquiries; analyzing global market impacts, such as changes in indices or FX, and how that impacts job functions, such as review of asset valuations and preparation of projections; analyzing and describing observable changes to data period-over-period; and Microsoft Excel functions including Pivot tables, vlookup, SUMIF, filters, and sorting.
