Senior Windows Systems Engineer (Specialist Systems Engineer/Programmer)

The SeniorWindows Systems Engineer role will be a very hands-on engineering roleworking to build, certify operating systems and core products that work onWindows platform. In addition, this role will actively participate in settingstandards, developing automation and providing Level3 support to Productionservices team. There will be an opportunity to work with other engineering teamsincluding Hardware Platform management, Virtualization, Cloud and Ansible Automation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Automation of critical Windows Serverservices, including Operating system installation and configuration, alsoinstallation of applications.

  • Certification of operating systems,core applications and hardware.

  • Work with internal teams to supportinternal and external audits.

  • Research and provide solutions forvulnerability remediation.

  • Documenting procedures, certificationsand processes.

Specialist SystemsEngineer/Programmer->> Designs anddevelops solutions to complex application problems, system administrationissues, or network concerns. Performs systems management and integrationfunctions. May allocate/coordinate work within a team/project. Ensures that allsystems, applications, software, and hardware are compliant with Corporatepolicy/procedures. Identifies issues and may lead the development of solutions.Works closely with external vendors to provide infrastructure needs. Worksclosely with Application Development and Quality Assurance and Testing teams tounderstand infrastructure needs during the development and testing processes.Strategizes on how to take these needs into account when developinginfrastructure. Develops detailed project plans. Monitors project progress andprovides regular status reports to management team. Evaluates theorganization's existing infrastructure technology and researches and analyzestrends. Recommends and implements upgrades that enhance its reliability andefficiency. Contributes to the achievement of related teams' objectives.


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required, advanced degree is preferred.

  • Six to eight (6-8) years of related experience is required.

  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

  • In-depth knowledge of the Windows Server OS, specifically 2016 and 2012.

  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Chocolatey, Git, etc.)

  • Experience with scripting languages (Powershell, VBscript, etc.)

  • Documentation skills.

  • Server hardware experience (Cisco UCS, HP, Dell).

  • Windows Active Directory experience, including Group Policy.
