Your role

We’re looking for a Data Lineage Divisional Head to:

  • be accountable for the end to end execution of the DMO methodology for selected divisions,
  • lead, coach and manage teams of work stream leads and business analysts to effectively deliver against internal and external timelines,
  • build productive relationships with senior divisional stakeholders and support them in the implementation of the DMO methodology, 
  • manage and resolve key risks and issues associated with your team's delivery, 
  • partner with other divisional leads to ensure delivery risks are minimized and the collective team is operating in the most effective manner, and
  • collaborate with other areas within the Data Management Office, providing requirements for tooling, driving a common strategy and enhancing our processes and methodology.

Your team

You will be working in Group Operations within the Data Management Office (DMO). This role sits within the Data Lineage team, which operates out of Weehawken, London, Pune and Bangalore. The Data Lineage team is responsible for working directly with divisional subject matter experts, in both the business and IT, to map data flows in the organization and populate and maintain the group data dictionary. The DMO is responsible for embedding a data management culture into the organization by advocating for our strategy and proactively challenging the way the firm works with data. The DMO is made up of approximately 100 people, comprising UBS permanent staff, contractors and consultants.

Your expertise

You have:

  • at least 10 years of experience in Financial Services, with a strong understanding of Risk and / or Financial Data. Knowledge of Banking or Capital Markets and familiar with current regulations such as BCBS 239, IFRS, CCAR, and an understanding of application data governance and data management (desirable, but not essential)
  • successfully forming and developing delivery teams comprising a range of delivery partners
  • proven change management experience demonstrated through the successful delivery of large complex global initiatives delivered against tight deadlines, using a structured and organized approach to your work
  • strong interpersonal skills with evidence of managing and influencing senior stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels.
