Large hedge fund seeks Controller

The Global Controllers Group is responsible for accounting and financial reporting for the fund, a publicly traded company, as well as the private investment funds it manages. The Closed End Accounting team within the Global Controllers Group manages all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and operations for firm's’ Closed End funds.

Role

Will help lead a team of 9 accountants and will be responsible for the accounting, financial reporting and operations of various funds Private Equity, Credit, and Real Estate F

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee aspects of the accounting, finance and treasury functions for the Real Estate Funds and Private Equity Funds, including:

o Manage monthly/quarterly close process in compliance with deadlines and internal controls

o Oversee and coordinate with external fund administrator on all reporting requirements

o Review capital call and distribution calculations and notices

o Review incentive allocation and waterfall analysis

o Review GAAP financial statements and ensure all required reporting disclosures are accurate

o Coordinate annual audit for multiple funds

o Responsible for various regulatory reporting requirements

o Manage and review fund and investment level performance reporting

o Responsible for treasury, cash management and operational controls for cash management and associated bank reconciliations.

o Monitor exposure to credit lines and responsible for various reporting requirements for associated debt covenants

o Ensure compliance with expense allocation policies and procedures

o Review trade entries ensuring clerical accuracy and appropriate support documentation

o Review existing processes and implement initiatives to improve and streamline finance and accounting functions

• Develop and design ongoing employee training programs.

• Contribute to the formulation of a strategic plan to scale the operations and accounting through administration, technology, and process.

• Work with senior leaders across the Sculptor Infrastructure (Investment Professionals, Accounting, Investor Relations, Legal, Operations, Technology) in support of the Real Estate funds and Private Equity Funds

• Responsible for timely reporting of results in connection with internal FP&A and public company reporting requirements inclusive of maintenance of SOX controls.

• Support the finance and accounting aspects of acquisitions and dispositions, including predeal diligence with the asset managers, legal and tax departments.unds that the group managers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience across private equity or real estate accounting

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA or other post-graduate degree is preferred • CPA designation is preferred

• Demonstrated management experience

• Public and private experience preferred (private equity, hedge fund or administrator)

• Knowledge of US GAAP

• Computer skills including, but not limited to, Excel, Word or equivalents

• Proven track record of scaling operations and enhancing controls
