Digital IT Release Management Transformation Lead

The online and mobile channels for Chase currently support more than 30 million active customers; 10 million customers interact with us daily, making Chase the most visited banking portal in the US. Within Consumer and Community Banking, the Digital IT team is responsible for setting and executing strategies that align with business objectives and drive innovation across Chase Online and Mobile, helping to establish the best Digital banking customer experience in the industry.

Role Definition: Digital Release Management Transformation Lead
The Digital Release Management team plans and manages Digital production deployment events consisting of monthly major release events and numerous weekly smaller events.
The Release Management Transformation Lead will support the adoption of CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery) technologies across Digital as part of the larger Digital Agile Transformation. The Lead will partner with the Release Management team's managers and technology leaders across Digital to move us to a continuous delivery model, as well as spearheaded any process, tool and organizational changes required for that move. This Lead will work with management, technology, and business staff in order to deliver the transformation objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead adoption of CI/CD tools and practices, advocating to and supporting all Digital technology delivery teams
  • Support migration from waterfall based quarterly and monthly releases to sprint based production deployments
  • Develop production policies and procedures for sprint based deliver
  • Lead adoption of end-to-end deployment automation techniques and testing/validation automation capabilities
  • Develop procedures for a 'one button' production deployment approach leveraging CI/CD and automation tools
  • Lead migration to Service Now Change Management system from current in house ITIL based Change system
  • Lead adoption of Service Now Instant Change Authorization AD delivery techniques for low risk applications
  • Partner closely with US and India based Release Mgmt staff and all Digital IT groups (AD, DevOps, infra engineering, L2 Operations, and Release Planning/Coordination) to develop and deliver new operational policies
  • Coordinate cross functional Digital IT and Release Mgmt teams to implement organizational changes
  • 12 years of experience in information technology with an emphasis on Release Management
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and techniques
  • Experience with an IT Agile transformation
  • Experience leading IT organizational change
  • Experience with Service Now a plus
  • Experience with ITIL based Change Mgmt practices
  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience leading and working with geographically distributed and culturally diverse work-groups
  • Proven leadership skills, with particular focus on the ability to work with senior management and with people in both technical and business areas and across multiple functional areas and LOBs
  • The ability to influence others, prioritize tasks, resolve problems, and lead meetings with large sized groups of technical and business staff
  • Willingness to support implementation events during occasional weekend and/or overnight hours
  • Strong understanding of the overall IT application development lifecycle
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
