The Team
The role will be part of the newly created Enterprise Financial Planning and Analyses (FP&A) capability at S&P Global. The Enterprise FP&A group is a significant departure from the current model comprised of a Corporate FP&A team and several divisional FP&A teams. The new operating model is one that is a hybrid, comprised of an augmented team with authority and capabilities at the corporate center and divisions retaining other FP&A responsibilities. We are looking for intellectually curious, progressive and passionate thinkers to join our group.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the overall financial analysis/planning operation across the entire enterprise
  • Advise financial planning and evaluation activities by guiding deadlines and interpretation/analysis of the results
  • Assist management to develop Board of Director presentations and Operating Committee discussion content. Establish and maintain comprehensive and transparent financial models to support analysis
  • Partner with Investor relations for delivery of external messaging and inquiry follow-up
  • Utilize latest data sources to evaluate competitor performance and investor feedback
  • Work on strategic projects within the Enterprise FP&A and Corporate Strategy teams including development and implementation of new technology solutions
  • Provide day to day support and insight to divisional finance teams particularly around forecasting deliverables
  • Work closely with the treasury function to support SPGI's capital allocation framework
  • Ensuring monthly and quarterly reporting cycle works effectively by assisting internal data providers and coordinating with the Corporate Controllers function
  • Applies the best financial practices, knowledge of strategic objectives and understanding of market drivers and competitive landscape to impact business results

Qualifications:
  • 6+ years experience in accounting or finance
  • CPA/MBA preferred
  • Self-starter and Independent thinker who acts creatively to problem solve. Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and entrepreneurial environment that balances operational efficiency and data analysis with high quality standards
  • Attentive to accuracy, looks for improvements continuously, finds root cause of quality problems, owns/act acts on identified issues
  • Technology savvy and strong understanding of current / next-generation of technologies for business processes and Finance. Proven design abilities for reports/dashboards in Business Intelligence solutions
  • Ability to effectively partner and communicate. Demonstrated personal accountability and integrity with an ability to build and grow relationships within organizations
  • Familiar with multiple business functions (Marketing, Product, Finance et al.) and comfortable engaging with various stakeholders including C-level executives
  • Comfortable managing the delivery of high quality outputs with overlapping deadlines and tight time constraints
