Checkout.com is looking for a Senior Manager to join the M&A and Investments team as a Deal Lead in our fast-growing New York office. You'll be responsible for building out the M&A and Investments practice at Checkout and focus on global deals. Reporting directly to our Head of M&A and Investments, you'll have ownership over how Checkout.com approaches this critical space and abundant opportunity to grow your scope and career through demonstrated impact.
This role is highly cross-functional, where you'll work with some of the brightest minds in payments and fintech across product, engineering, sales, and marketing, and more. With a combination of strategy, deal execution, scrappiness, and grit, you'll develop relationships with the ecosystem and help identify opportunities to propel Checkout.com onto new growth vectors.
What you'll be doing - Engage in the end-to-end deal process, including sourcing, financial modeling, deal structuring, due diligence, and closing & integration activities
- Lead and influence cross-functional deal teams across Checkout.com
- Develop perspectives on the industry and specific targets, including inorganic strategy development, competitive landscaping, industry analyses, etc.
- Help mentor, support and train others on the team
About you - 7+ years experience in corporate finance roles, including but not limited to Corporate Development, Private Equity, Venture Capital and / or Investment Banking
- Experience in a deal environment
- Experience and deep knowledge of Fintech / Payments a plus
- Demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibility over time
- Confident in relationship building and public speaking with high EQ and a sense of humility and humor
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment: proactive, self-motivated, results-oriented, and organized
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
