About the Job

Provides functional support to project controls activities. Responsible for managing and reporting all aspect for cost, budget, schedule, risk, variations, Project performance and accountable for implementation and support of corporate policies, technical standards, guidelines, procedures pertaining to project control during the development and execution of the various Projects.

Key Accountabilities
  • Supports Value Assurance Process (VAP) framework with focus on Project control at all stages of the Project and assist VAP custodian. Reviews and endorses Project Decision Support Package (DSP).
  • Support in Preparing Business Plan and Budget. Preparation of Projects 5 Years Business Plan, Yearly Business Plan, Performance monitoring reports, sustainability commitments, business impact analysis and various management level presentations.
  • SAP system related to project controls such as Initiate AFE, material requisitions, updated VOWD and verify invoices.
  • Prepare Performance management & Monthly Reporting.
  • Monitors and reviews project funding requirements, approval of budget request, project cost revision sheet, authorization for expenditure and contract variation request.
  • Formulating & delivering Risk Management trainings and awareness campaign.
  • Working across all organisational units & engage with all key stakeholders; establishing and logging key risks to business processes
  • Producing appropriate risk register at Business Unit level and Enterprise level.
  • Work with key stakeholders in order to ensure that risks and mitigation controls are identified, documented, assessed, managed and are being appropriately monitored and reported to the concerned.
  • Assist in managing risks associated with Project planning, administration and timely completion by conducting risk workshops and surveys.
  • Continuously looking to improve the existing Risk Management process.
  • Prioritize and plan risk mitigation and risk control activities, ensuring standardized methods, processes and procedures are engaged.
  • Time/ Schedule & Program Management: Critical review of Project progress reports, preparation of Projects Monthly Progress Reports, Weekly Progress reports, assurance review of Baseline schedules/ Detailed Contractor's level-IV schedule of the Projects, co-ordination & reporting of portfolio projects, review of Define& Execute Project schedules, bench marking of schedules for different project activities, Liaison with Corporate Strategic Department for Company's Business Plans on schedules, schedule risk analysis, verification of reported progress.
  • Change Management: Assessment, evaluation, validation of Cost and Schedule impacts arising from Variations/ Changes of all Projects through proper & detailed/effective analysis and application of Contract terms & conditions, bench-marking of various cost & schedule durations data for variations for derivatives, assurance review of CVR's for senior management, evaluate the effects of Changes, mitigate the variation trends of Contractor and effective evaluation of changes. Evolution of Templates, Guidelines and Procedures for Effective Change Management, periodical review of Provisional Sums & their administration in projects, Proper evaluation of cost benefit issues etc
  • Support in Monitoring contract requisitions, material requisitions, tracking invoice payment certificates, contractor timesheets and invoices. Reviews project data and progress reports.
  • Develops realistic Project cost and schedule forecast based on ground realities of the Project.
  • Reviews and develops Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), cost coding, reporting subsystems, cost and schedule baseline, cost control, value of work, Progress measurement and implementation plans.
  • Supervises the preparation of project controls technical standards, guidelines and procedures for project development and execution and ensures Project approval are in line with approved Project control Practice of the Company.
  • Supports in variety of Contract activities including evaluation of contractor / consultant proposals and participates in preparation of Tender Packages and review and assess variations.

  • Provide effective and visible leadership and integrated strategic direction to the Unit in the areas of Corporate Governance, Operations, People, Values and HSE and Integrity in order to deliver Unit's strategic objectives.
Budgets
  • Preparation of the Section / Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
  • Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section's / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management
  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Department in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvemen t
  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Reports
  • Prepare progress reports for Company Management.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree Civil / Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent Discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petroleum & Refining fields.
  • Project Management Profession and Risk Management Professional is an added advantage
  • Sound knowledge of HSE principles and their application in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Specialized experience specifically in high H2S and CO2 processes.
  • Experience in onshore remote/desert operations.
  • Experience in Primavera and Primavera Risk Analysis
  • Work Management, Planning & Scheduling
  • Expert knowledge of third party/vendor management processes
  • Thorough knowledge of contract administration.
