Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Compliance, the main responsibilities of this role are to adopt a proper operating model that fosters relationship building interacting with respective regulators and authorities at every stage of its development and growth.

The role holder may from time to time be assigned to other managerial tasks within Compliance to support divisional requirements

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Build and maintain productive business relationships with regulators and management across the regions, must have a strong project management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally across the regions to effectively deliver the role purpose.
  • Act as an advisor to the different related divisions across the Group by soliciting with authorised expertise as required on any key regulatory obligations to ensure continued expertise is provided to the businesses and functions of the group.
  • Maintain a robust regulatory relationship framework to build resilient relationships with various authorities group-wide
  • Keep abreast of new and upcoming regulations /news as part of maintaining effective regulatory relationships.
Job Context

Support the Head of Regulatory Compliance as follows:
  • Lead and manage the implementation and monitoring of the Regulatory Relationship Management framework that properly defines the role of compliance in building and maintaining strong regulatory relationships across the group.
  • Manage relationship with regulators/authorities of the group by being key point of contact and governing body.
  • Ensure proper and timely interaction with the regulators/competent authorities.
  • Manage internal interactions with various senior management on the different regulatory communications (Mandatory, Non-Mandatory and Ancillary).
  • Oversee country regulatory contacts and interactions.
  • Manage regulatory examinations and assessments.
  • Oversee the overall interactions with regulators/competent authorities across the group by keeping a repository of all communications and related actions.
  • Monitoring and communicating to regulators/authorities on actions and updating the regulatory register in case of circulars/regulations/notices. Any significant delay on required actions will be escalated to the related Senior management for an appropriate action.
  • Provide guidance to senior management or higher authorities through effective management information reports on regulatory matters and updates to help drive the bank's mission, vision and culture providing support in defining and executing the group's overall strategy meeting the bank's needs and interest.
  • Assist the Head of Regulatory Compliance in other activities as needed and directed
Qualifications

Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Management, Banking or Finance, preferably with certification in compliance, corporate governance, risk management or internal audit.
Minimum Experience and Required Skills
  • At least 8 years of business experience preferably in Compliance and/or Audit in Banks
  • Solid experience in dealing with various regulators
  • Strong interpersonal, people management and facilitation skills with good leadership skills
  • Excellent Knowledge of the operational risks in different business banking functions.
  • Preferably bilingual, Fluent in English and Arabic with strong written and verbal skills
  • Discrete and has sense for integrity and handles highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality.
