This opportunity is based in the U.A.E with a large semi-government asset manager / investment company who are shaping the future strategy of the power sector in this region. They are currently conducting a search for a seasoned profession with a Power, Utilities and / or Infrastructure background.

This opportunity is based in the U.A.E with a large semi-government asset manager / investment company who are shaping the future strategy of the power sector in this region. They are currently conducting a search for a senior executive with a proven, utilities and / or infrastructure background.  

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the function’s long, medium and short term strategy, paying specific attention to policies and procedures.
  • Develop the function’s annual budget, including both the manpower planning and financial planning.
  • Grow, implement and continue the departments policies, processes and procedures, ensuring they are in line with industry best practice.
  • Shape future strategy across power, utilties sectors.
  • Conduct regional and local market analysis of the power, utilities and infrastructure sectors.
  • Develop reports, with specific focus on market intelligence and the macro and micro investment environment in which power and infrastructure industries operate.
  • Identify and maintain relationships with key individuals and organisation specifically in the industry.
  • Coordinate and evaluate the valuation, due diligence and overall investment cycle of new investment opportunities. From a risk, strategic and financial footing.
  • Develop existing JV’s/M&A’s with in the sector including ongoing commercial and risk assessments.  
  • Originate JV partners and prospective M&A transactions specifically in the power and infrastructure space.
  • Build and lead an executive management team
  • Monitor and report on JV’s KPIs.
  • Deep experience of leading high value/large scale transformation/ restructuring, ideally in a private equity/ asset management type enviroment
  • Extensive expertise in deal formation and brownfield set-up and execution in power and utilities sectors preferred

  • Managed and completed trasnformation / restructuring, post acquisition M&A and JV’s with in either the power, utilities or infrastructure sectors.
  • Conduct regional and local market analysis of the power and utilities sectors.
  • Develop reports, with specific focus on market intelligence and the macro and micro investment environment in power and utitlies industries operate.
  • Identify and maintain relationships with key individuals and organisation specifically in the industry.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Engineering
  • Professional Certification in Investments
  • MBA is strongly preferred
  • 20 + years of relevant asset management and investment experience preferably in major power provider, asset manager, private equity or investment platform.
