Enterprise Business & Systems Architect - Defence Supply Chain Systems
Introduction
Shape the Future of Defence Supply Chain
The UK's defence landscape is changing fast. The Strategic Defence Review and Defence Industrial Strategy are driving unprecedented investment - and our client's Supply Chain Transformation practice is right at the heart of it.
We're looking for an Enterprise Business & Systems Architect to join a team that isn't just advising on change - it's delivering it. If you've spent your career solving complex supply chain challenges for Defence organisations and you're ready to work at scale, this is the role for you.
Why This Role?
This isn't a role where you'll spend your days in PowerPoint. You'll be embedded in some of the UK's most ambitious and strategically important Defence programmes, working alongside a collaborative, high-performing team with genuine depth of expertise across consulting, technology, and Defence operations.
You'll benefit from a hybrid working model (2-3 days on site per week), a genuinely inclusive culture, and the career development infrastructure of a world-leading management consultancy - with real scope to grow your influence in the Defence market.
Key responsibilities
You'll be the technical backbone of major Defence supply chain transformation programmes - the person who takes a client's operational challenges and turns them into coherent, deliverable system architectures.
Day to day, that means:
You'll work across the full supply chain lifecycle - planning, forecasting, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics - with a deep understanding of the digital technologies and enterprise systems that underpin them all.
Skills & experience
You'll be a natural fit if you have:
Proven experience in solution architecture, systems integration, or enterprise architecture within complex Defence or government environments
Hands-on knowledge of ERP and logistics platforms (SAP, Oracle, IFS, or bespoke Defence systems) and integration patterns including APIs and message queues
The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical teams and senior non-technical stakeholders
Experience managing project workstreams or leading small technical teams through design and implementation
A valid SC clearance (willingness to undergo DV is essential)
Desirable extras include knowledge of MODAF , TOGAF certification, cloud-native architectures, or experience in cybersecurity and secure system design.

- Translating high-level strategy into detailed system specifications, interface control documents, and data models

- Guiding and mentoring junior consultants while building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders
- Contributing to bids, thought leadership, and the growth of a respected Defence practice
