Credit Suisse's New York markets professionals are in mourning this morning as Dan Silber, the bank's head of FX and emerging markets FX sales passed away at home at the weekend.

Silber's passing is understood to have been unexpected.

Silber joined Credit Suisse in December 2017 after joining from HSBC, where he worked for 14 years after beginning his finance career at Goldman Sachs in 1994. A popular and well-loved broker and family man, he was aged in his mid-40s.

Last month, Joe Heraty, a veteran equities sales trading MD at Bank of America in London also passed away unexpectedly.

A spokesperson for Credit Suisse said: "On behalf of all employees, we extend our deepest sympathies to Dan’s family at this difficult time.
