Anthropic might want to hire you, if you've worked in private equity
If you’re a young financier eyeing a move to a big AI company like Anthropic to capitalize on near-trillion-dollar valuations, then you might just be in luck.

Speaking on the “Invest Like The Best” podcast with Patrick O'Shaughnessy, Anthropic’s CFO, Krishna Rao, admitted that the firm “hired people from some of the best companies in the world.” He valued the “different perspective” that they came from.
What are “some of the best companies in the world,” in Rao’s eyes? Hyperscalers, large software companies, or financial services firms. “In another lifetime,” Rao said, “I worked at Blackstone. And the private equity group… That training is really valuable, thinking about things at a granular level.”
So Anthropic might want you. If you’re in private equity, it might be doubly tempting: carried interest payments have been quite scant recently, as private equity firms have been struggling to exit investments without the secondaries market.
But the option to cash out of your Anthropic options might have to wait for an IPO. A much-used share transfer platform on Solana which employees used was labelled as possibly “engaging in fraud or offering investments with no real value,” Coinbase reported.
Still, an IPO might not be too far down the line. Polymarket speculators currently believe that there is a 63% chance that Anthropic will IPO before the end of the year, so you might not have a very long wait at all to get the big payout.
