Ashvin Parkash joined BNY earlier this month to be its head of global markets trading for APAC, based in Singapore. He joined the bank from Nomura in the city, where he spent six and a half years and was its global head of eFX (electronic foreign exchange) distribution.

Parkash has left Nomura after the Japanese firm hired aggressively, especially in Europe, to grow its markets business. Rig Kharkanis, Nomura's head of global markets and divisional COO went from London to Singapore in June after hiring 400 people in 2023.
