Systematic trading firm paid employees £2.8m each, donated £4m to the Labour Party
Forget Jane Street, Citadel Securities or Hudson River Trading. The most lucrative place to work in electronic trading appears to be Quadrature Capital, the London systematic trading firm that likes donating money to the Labour Party.

Quadrature Capital Ltd. just published its accounts for the year ending January 31st 2025. They reveal that the firm paid each of its 173 London employees an average of £2.8m ($3.7m), excluding employment taxes. They also reveal that Quadrature made a £4m donation to the Labour Party.
This isn't the first time that Quadrature has supported a cause. The firm is affiliated to the independently run Quadrature Climate Foundation which allocates millions to charities combatting climate change.
Quadrature's generosity to employees is also nothing new. Last time we looked it was paying people £2.5m each.
The recent pay increase came as Quadrature more than doubled its turnover to £1.2bn and increased profits nearly ten times to £411m versus the prior fiscal year.
The firm employed 173 people in London after hiring an extra 30. They work in a leafy office in the Leadenhall Building (also known as the cheesegrater), where there is allegedly beer on tap and beech themed meeting rooms.
Quadrature describes itself as a provider of "investment management services" and says it's building the "ultimate automated trading business." It also has offices in Singapore and New York.
